Method B - Application Guide

Suitable for painted surfaces as well as all metal surfaces and is applied using white spirit as a penetration catalyst (Note that more detailed written instructions for both methods are included with your Propshield purchase along with further detailed precautions). Further application photos can be seen here.

The below example/guide shows Propshield being applied to a bronze propeller.

STEP 1

Surface Preparation:
First clean the metal surface

STEP 2

Dissolve a small amount of
Propshield into a plastic container
with white spirit

STEP 4

Once the first coat has been applied over the whole surface melt some Propshield until it is a liquid. This can be achieved by heating with a blowlamp/heatgun or by dropping a container of Propshield into a bowl/tub of hot water

STEP 3

On a rag wipe the Propshield
& white spirit mixture onto the
blade until a very thin film is applied

STEP 5

Now apply a second thicker coat;
dip a rag into the liquid Propshield
and apply a thicker coat to the blades

STEP 6

The job is now completed and
the vessel is ready to launch.
